There are a few things I thought I might miss while traveling. Amongst them are Michigan Football and NFL games. But thanks to a little research, I’ve found the best places in London, Paris and beyond to watch NFL action!
Some of these bars even stay open until 4 A.M. to accommodate American expats, and locals intrigued by American Football!
Last year during a trip to Spain (Madrid / Toledo / Barcelona) and Paris the NFL announced their 2014 London schedule. I was ecstatic to see that my DETROIT LIONS were on the schedule and told my travel buddy that London was definitely our next trip! I marked the release date of tickets on my calendar and purchased tickets as soon as they become available. Little did I know then that I’d be planning a much bigger European vacation set to begin just 51 days before the Lions game.
It was during that same trip that I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the Michigan vs Ohio State game with the University of Michigan Paris Alumni club! We all know how that game turned out but I had an absolute BLAST! Losing has never felt that good (or good at all). I was able to meet some U of M Alums from my home state of Michigan and the nicest Buckeyes I’ve ever met. I’ll be looking up other international alumni clubs as I travel.
Now that I know where to watch the games, I’ll be packing my jerseys and taking them with me! WHO’S READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!?!?!
